VELLORE: Around 48,000 students of plus one and plus two in the district will receive textbooks from Thursday, Chief Educational Officer Pon Kumar said.

The books would be taken from the Katpadi Government Girls Higher secondary school campus and the Don Bosco school campus to various schools, the CEO  informed at a meeting of headmasters.

The results for the classes 6 to 9 and plus one would be published on Thursday, he informed.

C E O Pon Kumar directed the headmasters not to collect excess fees other than what has been specified by the State government.

Kumar also asked the headmasters not to close admissions to various classes before the end of this month.

The CEO suggested a grand reception for the  freshers in various classes,  so that they begin their school session in a joyous and an upbeat frame of mind.
