MADURAI: Police have detained a homeopathy doctor for allegedly making a call to the 108 ambulance service and threatening that a bomb would go off during the BJP’s fifth state conference in Madurai. Police said that they picked up Vanangamudi, a homeopathy doctor from Avaniyapuram, who called the 108 service during the wee hours of Wednesday and allegedly warned them that a bomb would explode during the BJP conference on May 10 and 11.

The homeopath had mentioned that the bomb was fixed in a car and gave the vehicle’s number.

A top police officer from Chennai, who got information about the call, alerted the Madurai cops.

When the police traced the mobile number from which he had called, they found out that the number belonged to Vanangamudi of Avaniyapuram.
