MADUARI: Four persons sustained injuries in a fight that broke out between two families over hiding of a pair of footwear here on Friday. Thingal Arasan (24) and Karthi (20) of Mela Anuppanadi, both friends, residing in a same locality on nearby streets.

It is said that Karthi had hid Thingal Arasan’s pair of footwear for fun. Thingal Arasan searched for his footwear everywhere, but in vain.After he came to know that Karthi had hid his footwear, Thingal Arasan picked up an argument with him. The argument ensued into a fight and locals tried to pacify the duo.Meanwhile, members of both the families, who learnt about the incident, also  joined the fight. Both the families attacked each other with wooden logs and iron rods, police said. In the attack, four persons, Thingal Arasan, his mother Chandrakala and Karthi’s elder sister Bakialakshmi, his younger brother Velmurugan sustained injuries and were admitted to the GRH.Theppakulam police have registered a complaint and arrested Karthi and Thingal Arasan’s father Moorthy.

They were booked under section 324 of the Indian Penal Code.
