VELLORE: About 18 merchant associations under the Vaniyambadi Vanigar Peravari, all trade unions and several political parties will protest against the inauguration of the new bus stand in Vaniyambadi on Thursday.
The Tamil Nadu Justice Speakers Trust will initiate the protest. President of the trust, K Umar said shops will remain closed on Thursday.
Protestors said the new bus stand in Chettiyappanur, three km away is located in a remote area and added that it had been built on the bypass road adjoining the NH and not on the main road. Built at a cost of `3.30 crore, it covers 2.69 acres.
