TIRUNELVELI: A 13-year-old school girl in Tirunelveli district committed suicide after her parents reportedly refused to buy her a school uniform.
The police said, Muthulakshmi, daughter of Arumugam, a daily wage worker of Rajagopalapuram, Ramayanpatti had asked her father to buy her a set of school uniform. But her father reportedly told her that he would buy her the uniform after the school reopened.
Irked by this, she allegedly hung herself on Tuesday when she was alone at home. She had finished Class VIII at a school at Ramayanpatti.
