French citizen loses cheque book, 60 sovereigns

A French national, Ramanan Balaguru (46) has filed a complaint with the police stating that 60 sovereigns and a cheque book were found to be missing from the house, which was occupied by his deceased mother.

A French national, Ramanan Balaguru (46) has filed a complaint with the police stating that 60 sovereigns and a cheque book were found to be missing from the house, which was occupied by his deceased mother.

Police said the French citizen’s mother, Maragatham Ammal, was residing at a house in Yanam Venkatachalpillai Street. Sujatha, wife of another French national, who was staying on rent in the first floor of the same house, was taking care of Ammal until her death, last month.

Balaguru, who was in India to perform the last rites of Ammal, on verifying the assets, found that 60 sovereigns and a cheque book were missing from almirah, following which he filed a complaint with Odiansalai Police station.
