Help TN excel in medicare: Minister

Health Minister K C Veeramani called upon the medical community to extend cooperation in a bid to push Tamil Nadu to excel in healthcare delivery to all its citizens.

Speaking at a function organised by the Indian Medical Association, Azeez-Chida foundation and Dr Ikram Social and Community Welfare Trust on the eve of the world health day on Saturday, the minister underlined the need for medicos to create greater public awareness on organic food and good exercise regime for a healthy lifestyle conditions. The Minister handed over awards for best service to 53 eminent doctors from across the State.

Minister for Backward and Minorities’ Welfare Mohammed John, in his address, said the doctors were being respected and revered next only to God in the society. More than their medicine, it is their concern that helped the patients most.

In his keynote address, president of the Indian Society of Dental Research Dr C V Subba Rao described hypertension as a “silent killer” and insisted that early diagnosis and management was the need of the hour.
