‘Power Star’ won’t be arrested

The judge of a fast-track Court II here cancelled an arrest warrant issued against actor Srinivasan, who is popularly known as Power Star, after the latter appeared in court in connection with a cheque bouncing case on Monday. Ganesh Kumar of Nehru Nagar, Madurai had lent `9 lakh to Srinivasan some months ago. Srinivasan promised to repay the amount within two months and gave him a post-dated cheque.

However, when Kumar attempted to cash the cheque, the bank said that the account did not have any money. Srinivasan evaded Kumar when he raised the issue with him. Following this, Kumar filed a petition in court seeking action against Srinivasan. As Srinivasan did not appear for case hearings, the court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him on March 21 following which he appeared for the hearing on  Monday.  Judge (in-charge) Sundaram cancelled the warrant and posted the case for further hearing on April 25.
