In a brutal incident a construction worker killed his mother by hitting her with a brick after a quarrel at his house here on Thursday night.
R Sivan (33) of Marandahalli in Palacode taluk, who was working as a construction worker in Bangalore, came to his hometown to celebrate Ugadi with his wife Rajeswari, son Ram and mother Suseela (60).
Later he went with his friends to consume liquor. Sivan returned home in an inebriated condition and picked up a fight with his wife. During an altercation, he picked up a brick and threw it at her. However the stone missed his wife and hit Suseela killing her o the spot. On a complaint by Village Administrative Officer police registered a case and arrested Sivan.
