Standing his ground, former telecom minister A Raja on Friday said that he was “innocent” as far as the spectrum scam was concerned.

“When the spectrum allocations were made, the Prime Minister and Finance Minister were involved in every step. Manmohan Singh, who is the PM now, was the PM at that time too,” he said after his arrival at the Chennai airport at 1 pm.

Raja seemed genuinely offended by the JPC probe’s findings that both the PM and then Finance Minister P Chidambaram were not involved in the spectrum scam.

As he left to meet DMK supremo M Karunanidhi, he said, “I will submit a 100 page report on what went on during the spectrum allocation to the JPC and then everyone will come to know what happened,” he said.

Meanwhile, Karunanidhi took a dig at the Joint Parliamentary Committee’s draft report, stating that it was unbelievable that a minister could misguide the Prime Minister. “Can we believe the claim that a minister misguided the Prime Minister? “ he asked.

On whether he would advice Raja on how to go about in the matter, Karunanidhi told reporters: “He was a minister of the department. There is nothing for me to advice him that he doesn’t know. Justice should be given in the right manner.”
