TASMAC outlets and bars have been directed to remain closed on April 24 (Mahaveer Jayanthi) and May 1 (May Day). The district administration issued the order in this regard under Rule 12 of the Tamil Nadu Liquor Retain Vending Rules 2003. Failure to follow the direction would attract action including suspension and cancellation of the licences of the shops and bars, a communication from the district administration said.
