AIADMK smells conspiracy in CM’s moves

The opposition AIADMK charged the AINRC government led by Chief Minister N Rangasamy with hatching a conspiracy to close the century-old Anglo French Textile mill, run by the territorial administration.

Briefing newsmen at a press conference here on Monday, MLA A Anbazhagan, secretary of the local unit of the party, said the AINRC government was indulging in a blame game with the Congress, instead of concentrating on reviving the defunct mill. Though more than 2,000 workers were dependent on the AFT mills for their livelihood, there has been no action plan to modernise the mill.

The Chief Minister, in his election manifesto, had made promises to offer jobs to the  workers in the mill, but nothing materialised. He threatened to mobilise mill workers and launch a stir seeking action to revive the mill.
