A local court today adjourned to June 7 hearing in the Sankararaman murder case in which the Kanchi seer Jayendra Saraswathi and his junior Vijayendra are the prime accused.
Principal District and Sessions Judge C.S.Murugan adjourned further proceedings when the hearing resumed.
Special Public Prosecutor N.Devadoss told reporters that the petitions submitted by him and defence counsel for Ravi Subramanian, who turned hostile, would be taken up in the next hearing.
Devadoss said he had filed the petition at the last hearing on April 16 seeking action against Ravi Subramanian as he turned hostile and consequently failed to comply with the conditions of tender of pardon given to him.
C.P.Tirunavukarasu, defence counsel for Ravi Subramanian, today submitted his petition in reply to the prosecution`s plea, highlighting his points in the matter.
Only ten of the 23 accused were present during the hearing today and the absentees included the two Kanchi Mutt seers.
Sankararaman, manager in the Varadarajaperumal temple in Kancheepuram was allegedly murdered in his office at the temple on September 3, 2004.
