The audio launch of Mathapoo was held recently at Prasad Labs. The film stars newcomer Jeyan and Gayathri of Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kanom and 18 Vayasu fame.

The rest of the cast includes actors Geetha, Sitaara, Renuka and Kitty. Mathappo, produced by Vinayaka Productions, is directed by Dinamthorum Nagaraj who helmed Dhinamthorum that starred Murali and Suvalakshmi in lead roles.

In fact, the director is making a comeback after a hiatus of close to 15 years after his first release. The audio launch was presided over by filmmaker K Bhagyaraj along with other known names in the film industry like S P Jananathan, Balasekaran, Azhagam Perumal, Pandiraj, Suseenthiran and Sasi. While Bhagyaraj wished Nagaraj luck for this next venture, saying that he was confident about his film-making skills, Jananathan highlighted the significance of internet for the film industry. He said that directors should ensure that they made the optimum use of the medium, both for their work and its promotion.

The music is by debutant K Velayutham, while the cinematographer is C R Maravarman.  Interestingly, the lyrics have been penned by three people – Na Muthukumar, J Francis Krupa and a newcomer Arivazhagan.
