Krishnagiri cops end car lifting spree of Kerala duo

Two persons from Kerala were arrested here on Sunday for allegedly stealing vehicles in different parts of Tamil Nadu, police said on Sunday.

Police said that following several complaints of vehicle thefts in western districts, cops intensified patrolling at various points and also conducted vehicle checks at many pockets.

During one such vehicle check two persons in car were secured after they failed to show valid documents on Saturday night.

Inquiry revealed that the duo had stolen the car from a hotel in Krishnagiri two days ago. The accused have been identified as Joshi (32) and Jeenesh (34) from Wayanad in Kerala.

The duo said they had lifted the car when it was parked near Iswarya hotel on August 8. Police traced the owner of the vehicle, Manojkumar of Karnataka, through the registration number .

The duo also confessed to have stolen another Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in Krishnagiri and Mahindra Bolero SUV in Perundurai some time back.

The accused told the police that they some more persons were also involved in such crimes. Following the information, the police have launched a search top nab the others who were involved in car thefts.
