Gold biscuits found in toilet at Tiruchy Airport

Around one kilo gram of gold biscuits was found in the men’s toilet at the International Airport here on Monday.

The matter came to light when a housekeeping staff, while cleaning the toilet, spotted an unattended packet and informed CISF personnel deployed nearby.

Officials from Airports Authority of India and customs were informed and they rushed to the spot.

In the presence of authorised officers, the gold biscuits, valued at several lakhs of rupees, were collected and kept safely. Customs officials have started investigations.

It is believed that the gold biscuits could have been thrown off by the passengers of a Malaysian flight which arrived here at 5 pm.
