Murder case hearing on September 6th

Principal district and sessions judge C S Murugan on Monday adjourned the hearing in the Sankararaman murder case to September 6.

The proceedings in the case could not be taken up following a boycott call by the lawyers. Lawyers of Puducherry boycotted the courts to protest the killing of advocate, Ilamvazhuthi, of Salem Bar on August 5.

Only 13 of the 23 accused in the case were present in the court. The absentees included Kanchi Sankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi and his junior Vijayendra Saraswathi, the prime accused.
