Seventh international AITF Congress begins

The learning of a language strengthens the bonds of friendship, facilitate communication, cultural exchange, education and harmony among people, said Governor K Rosaiah at the inauguration of the seventh international congress on ‘Espace Francais Et Francophone: Le Monde En Marche-French And Francophone Studies: A World on the move’ at SRM University on Thursday.

The event was organised by Association of Indian Teachers of French (AITF) in collaboration with SRM University. Speaking on Indo-French relations, the Governor said the ties dated back to the 10th Century when the French physician, Francois Bernier, was appointed personal physician to Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.

President of AITF K Madanagobalene, SRM University Chancellor T R Pachamuthu, Consul of Quebec at Mumbai Benoit Jean Bernard, V-C of SRM University M Ponnavaiko and Registrar of the university N Sethuraman were also present.
