Kataria to be sworn in as Lieutenant Governor on July 10

Virendra Kataria, appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, will be sworn in on July 10.

Virendra Kataria, appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, will be sworn in on July 10.

He will be administered the oath of office by acting Chief Justice of Madras High Court R K Agrawal at a simple ceremony at Raj Nivas, sources said. He will succeed Iqbal Singh as the 21st Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry .

The 80-year-old Kataria was the former president of Punjab Congress Committee and a former Rajya Sabha member.Kataria hails from a political family as his elder brother was part of the freedom movement.
