Man held for Vaigai Express bomb hoax

Railway police held a 40-year-old man who made a hoax call saying a bomb was planted in the Madurai-Chennai Vaigai Express.The police had launched an intensive search operation to nab the caller. The accused told the police he had made the call just to see what happened if a bomb threat call was really made.

The Chennai railway police control room received a call from 9489468475 saying a bomb threat to Vaigai Express when it reaches Tiruchy junction on July 3. Soon the Chennai officials alerted the Tiruchy control room and the train which reached the junction was stopped and the entire train was scanned. Later, it was found to be a hoax call. On Saturday, the special team  arrested N Nagaraj (40) of Pulivalam in Tiruvarur district.
