Naam Thamizhar Katchi (NTK) chief and filmmaker Seeman was arrested for violating prohibitory orders at Thiruchitrmbalam, here on Monday.
Seeman was here to open a portrait of actor/director Manivannan at a function organised on Thiruchitrambalam Koot Road. The NTK chief was proceeding to the venue, when he was stopped by police.
The prohibitory orders, which were promulgated following the violence in Marakkanam a few months ago, were extended in the wake of a “threat to peace” following the death of Dalit youth Ilavarasan in Dharmapuri.
