Cops look at enmity angle in Ramesh case

The Special Investigation Teams, probing the murder of BJP State general secretary ‘Auditor’ V Ramesh have began reviewing the old cases of clashes between the Hindu organisations and other groups, in which the BJP leader was also accused of involvement.

Ramesh is one of the accused in a 1998 shooting incident during clashes in a Vinyaka Chaturti rally in Thammampatti.

The Special Investigating Team of the CB-CID police have formed separate groups to look into various angles.

A group headed by a DSP thoroughly checked the vicinity of  Ramesh’s office at Maraveneri. The investigators probed the possibility of the killers having took the Salem-Egmore express train.
