BJP criticises AINRC

The opposition AIADMK on Wednesday urged the AINRC government led by N Rangasamy to ask the centre to implement Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) only after ensuring cent per cent coverage of Aadhar in the Union Territory.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Puducherry AIADMK Secretary and MLA A Anbazhagan said that Rangasamy should write to the Centre this regard.

Further, he accused both Rangasamy and Narayanasamy were using the statehood issue for political mileage. He said that Rangasamy as the chief minister did not bother to pursue the statehood resolution passed in the territorial assembly with the centre, but was now projecting it as a requirement.

On the other hand, Narayanasamy was adopting double standards by stating that statehood with special category status was required for Puducherry knowing fully well that Puducherry could not merit special category status as per the criteria formulated by the Congress government.
