A 40-year-old man with a fractured leg and suffering from mental illness was rescued near Vellore Government Arts College in Otteri on Saturday.
He was picked up by Pandian, who approached Christian Medical College for help. After Dr Anna Tharyan of CMC contacted local NGO Udavum Ullangal to facilitate treatment for the man, he was taken to at the Vellore Government Medical College Hospital by the VIT University ambulance.
Both Pandian and friends Kumar and Sathishkumar are extending help to the man at the hospital.
