A 33-year-old man was allegedly stabbed after he failed to repay a paltry sum, Rs 600, to the lender.
According to police, Thangaraj, a resident of Rajaji Nagar, Cauveri RS, had borrowed Rs 3000 from Rameshkumar of Agraharam 18 months ago and failed to repay the full amount. He owed Rs 600 and delayed paying it back to Rameshkumar who attacked him after picking up a quarrel, the sources told.
Thangaraj, who was grievously hurt, has been admitted to a private hospital in Coimbatore.
Sources said that Rameshkumar was arrested by the Pallipalayam police on Friday.
