Wife among three held for murder of AU Assistant professor

Three persons, including the wife of the assistant professor in Annamalai University who was found dead were arrested in connection with his murder.

Three persons, including the wife of the assistant professor in Annamalai University who was found dead were arrested in connection with his murder.

Sampath (35), a resident of Kanagasabai Nagar and an assistant professor Annamalai University, was found dead on midnight on August 29. Inquiries revealed that Kiranrubini had plotted the murder along with her paramour Rajesh (32) and friend Amir Basha (42).

Police said,“Kiranrubini had asked Sampath to buy her soda as she was felling unwell. When he left, she informed Rajesh. As Sampath was returning, Rajesh and Amir Basha attacked him with an iron rod and then ran the car over him. Both confessed to the murder,” police said. The car and iron rod were seized, following the investigation.
