A 40-year-old man has been on the run after being booked by the police for raping his own daughter, a Plus One student, police sources said.

Balasubramaniam, a resident of Mallasamudram, was accused of sexually abusing his daughter for about six years by intoxicating her. “The Kumarapalayam police registered a case under sections 354, 376 and sections 5 (l) (m) (n), 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, r/w section 506 (ii) of IPC against Balasubramaniam, a power loom worker”, a police officer said.

The police have launched a look out for the accused who had gone absconding a week ago when the issue came to light.

Inquiries have revealed that he had even made the girl to abort twice in the last six years adding that he used to intoxicate her before sexually abusing her, the sources said adding that her mother did not object to his inhuman behaviour. Following a tip-off from a relative, an official team rescued the girl on Tuesday and handed her over to the District Child Protection Committee.
