NIT Puducherry Gets Award of Excellence

PUDUCHERRY: National Institute of Technology Puducherry (NIT-Py) at Karaikal received the CCI Technology Education Awards-2014 for ‘Excellence in Teaching Modern Engineering and Technology Aspects’ conferred by Gujarat Technological University and Communication Multimedia and Infrastructure Association of India.

The Minister of Higher and Technical Education of Gujarat, Bhupendra Singh Chudasame  presented the award to Dr Mrs S K Pandey, director - NIT-Py on July 19 at Ahmedabad. The programme was attended by Rizali W Indrahesuma, Ambassador of Indonesia, Shaida Mohd. Abdali, ambassador of Afghanistan to India,  Lewis Mbilizi, deputy high commissioner of Malawi of India and Ndubuisi V Amaku, high commissioner of Nigeria to India as well as the directors and vice-chancellors of many universities across India.

It was an achievement for the young institute that was incepted in 2010 and was functioning from the temporary premises of Arignar Anna Government Arts College at Karaikal.

There are 120 seats in the Institute which conducts BTech courses in four disciplines of engineering.
