Life Sentence for Killer of Husband Stays

MADURAI: The Madras High Court (Madurai Bench) has upheld the life sentence awarded by the trial court to a woman accused of killing her wayward husband, who had already married twice.

In December 2003, Lakshmi had allegedly killed Ganesan at their house in Andipatti in Theni after a quarrel. Though she surrendered before the local Village Administrative Officer and confessed to the crime, during trial she retracted her statement. However, the sessions judge convicted her.
