TIRUPUR: A prisoner, who is on the run, form the police, had promised that the police on May 28 while being taken to the jail after being produced in a court in Tirupur, was nabbed in Coimbatore on Friday.
According to the police, Anandkumar (19), a native of Kanuvai, was arrested in connection with a robbery at Mangalam and lodged in the Pollachi prison. On May 28, he was produced before the JM Court II in Tirupur, who extended his custody. While the escort party was taking him back, the accused in the guise of answering nature’s call escaped from the cops from Tirupur bus stand. Three special teams were formed to nab the accused. Police on receiving tip-off that Anandkumar had visited his wife’s house in Tirupur on Friday and arrested him.
