No Cheers for Lone BJP Winner Radhakrishnan

MADURAI: Despite its victory at the Centre, BJP has a thing or two to ponder over regarding their poor performance in Tamil Nadu. BJP state president Pon Radhakrishnan felt ashamed about the NDA’s poor show in Tamil Nadu.

Visiting the temple city a day after emerging the winner from Kanyakumari Lok Sabha constituency, Radhakrishnan said he did not want to blame any other allies for their poor performance in the State, where the NDA secured 2 out of 39 seats. Moreover, he was one of the main forces to form the ‘rainbow’ alliance, so he took responsibility for it.

“The defeat was only due to competitive strategies handled during the election process by the ruling party in the State,” he said.

He said AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was the sole person to be credited  for her party’s landslide victory in the LS polls.

Radhakrishnan said Jayalalithaa should take credit for winning the 37 seats, which was the third biggest tally for any political party in the country.
