PUDUCHERRY: A 11-year-old boy Navaneeth of Koonichempattu, who was bitten by a suspected rabid dog a month ago, died here on Sunday, police said. According to Thirukkanur police on Monday, the child underwent treatment at the Rajiv Gandhi Women and Children Hospital (RGWCH) at Ellaipillaichavady for rabies and was then referred to another government hospital. Despite the treatment, the boy died. According to sources, a couple of family members are being observed as they were in contact with the boy. Navaneeth, a class V student at a government school, lived with his father, a daily wager, mother and two brothers in a colony at Koonichempattu, in Madagadipet.
