VELLORE: Four men were arrested for murdering a 38-year-old AIADMK loyalist on August 21 in Arcot.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Aneef of Kaspa in Arcot. He was murdered by two auto drivers, Thala Basha (40) and Thameen (26) of the same area on Thursday night. The duo had also stabbed Gulab Khan (63) when he came to the rescue of Aneef.
“Initial inquiry revealed that Anif and the duo entered into a heated argument on Thursday for some unknown reason. It took an ugly turn when Thameen took out a knife and stabbed Anif.
The motive behind the murder is still unknown. Basha and Thameen, with the help of his two friends Sabi (29) an auto driver and Kalu (22) a daily wage labourer, murdered Anif.” said police. They were remanded in judicial custody.
