Ambur Council Gives Nod for Civic Projects

VELLORE: The Ambur municipal council has given its nod for the implementation of development works to the tune of `1.5 crore this year. A resolution to this effect was adopted at the council meeting, which was held on Wednesday and  chaired by the council chairperson Sangeetha Balasubramani.

The developmental projects would include improving water works, laying of roads and street lighting works.

During the discussion at the meeting, the councillors expressed concern over the pasting of wall posters on the walls of government buildings and schools. They also wanted the municipality to  take steps to curb such activities.

A group of councillors also highlighted the stray dogs and monkey menace faced by the residents and wanted the municipality to capture the animals. Removal of encroachments in the busy bazaar area to facilitate free movement of traffic was one of their other demands.

Chairperson Sangeetha Balasubramani felicitated headmaster Sathya Kumar of  Municipal Middle School at Bethlaham in Ambur, for bagging the Best School State award recently.
