VELLORE: A 37-year-old man was arrested for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old mentally challenged girl on Monday.
The man, M Chandrasekar, a resident of Vallalar is a daily wage labourer in the city. The victim, whose name has been withheld, is a neighbour of the accused.
“The victim, who is mentally unsound was playing in the street around 4 pm on Sunday. Chandrasekar used this opportunity and called her to his house and assaulted her sexually. After the horrific incident, the girl told her parents what happened,” said a police official. A case was filed in the All Women’s Police station in Vellore . Chandrasekar was arrested and remanded in jail.
