CHENNAI: Former Union Minister G K Vasan, who recently revived the Tamil Maanila Congress founded by his father G K Moopnar, launched his party's membership drive today.

Launching the initiative here, Vasan assured his supporters that he will be in touch with them and exhorted them to increase party's membership by bringing in more supporters.

TMC (Moopanar) was revived by Vasan after he walked out of Congress following differences with its high command in the wake of its rout in Tamil Nadu in this year's Lok Sabha polls.

Many Congress leaders including former MPs BS Gnanadesikan, NSV Chithan and Viswanathan besides sitting MLAs--NR Rangarajan and John Jacob besides many former legislators and others had joined the party.
