Shanti Hopes To Get Back Asiad Medal

PUDUKKOTTAI:  Shanti Soundararajan, who won a silver medal for 800 meter race at Asian games in 2006, said that Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan would try to get back the medal stripped off her after she failed a gender test.

“I appreciate the statement of Minister Pon Radhakrishnan, who said that he would try to get back the silver medal to me,” Shanti said. She also approached the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports in Delhi on Monday appealing him to get her a permanent job as she has been working as a coach on contract basis.
