DHARMAPURI: Irula tribes lodged a complaint with Dharmapuri SP J Loganathan on Monday alleging that a 15-year-old girl from the community was raped by a Vanniyar youth.
According to the complaint, Kumutha (name changed), resident of Palai, Panjapalli panchayat in Palacode, was kidnapped on December 18 by B Kumar (21) of the same village and taken to Anaikkal Muniappan Temple and forcefully married. The relatives further alleged that Kumar had raped Kumutha on several occasions, due to which she became pregnant twice, but had hid this from her family. Now the boy’s family was refusing to accept her.
