Posters of Rival Groups Spark Row

PUDUCHERRY: Tension prevailed in Thavalakuppam area on Wednesday after a row over pasting of posters by rival political parties.

Sources said, Congress workers pasted posters at Thavalakuppam junction about the observance of death anniversary of their leader Kamaraj. The activists of Naam Thamizhar Katchi pasted the posters of their party leader Seeman on top of the Congress posters.

Congress worker and Kamaraj’s brother, Pugazhenthi allegedly beat up NTK leader Ilango on Tuesday. A complaint was filed. The NTK activists resorted to a road blockade. The police arrested seven NTK activists.
