DINDIGUL: In a sequel to a gang war, petrol bombs were hurdled on the vehicle of the accused in Pasupathy Pandian murder case while they were returning in a magistrate court here on Monday.

Police said that on Monday morning, 11 accused were returning in a car after attending the trial in the Pasupathy Pandian murder case in a magistrate court here.

When the car of accused hit the Madurai Highways, a gang alleged to be their rivals, hurdled petrol bombs and tried to kill them. Soon after the attack, the gang members fled the spot abandoning their vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Dindigul police rushed to the spot and recovered the car and lorry. During a subsequent check, cops found lethal weapons and petrol bombs in the vehicles. Police after investigations, arrested a trio in connection with the attack.
