Sri Vaithianatha Swamy Shrine Declared as Senior Grade Temple

Sri Vaithianatha Swamy temple in Vaitheesrankoil in Sirkazhi taluk has been declared as a senior grade temple by the State government.

CHENNAI: Sri Vaithianatha Swamy temple in Vaitheesrankoil in Sirkazhi taluk has been declared as a senior grade temple by the State government. A Government Order dated June 13, 2013, which declared the temple as senior grade temple, was submitted before Justice S Nagamuthu in Madras High Court following a contempt petion filed by Sri Vaithianathaswamy Thirukkoil Archakarkal Welfare Association represented by its president D M Vaithianatha Gurukkal. The petitioners filed the contempt petition seeking direction to punish the authorities for disobedience of court order. But, with the GO having been issued, Justice S Nagamuthu closed the contempt petition.
