'Start English Medium Edu in Aided Schools'

VELLORE: The Pernambut Consumer Protection Welfare Society urged the Department of School Education to allow government-aided elementary and middle schools to start education in English medium on the lines of the government starting English medium education in government schools, in this academic year.

In a memorandum submitted to Sabitha, principal secretary to the Education Department, president of the society T Basheeruddin said, this would greatly benefit the poor and deserving students, who have been yearning to study in English.

Basheeruddin also urged the department to fill  the vacant posts in the Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School in Pernambut, where over 2,000 poor students, mostly belonging to the SC/ST communities, studied.
