6,091 boys and 7,437 girls from Puducherry and Karaikal appeared for the Language I paper in the Plus Two Public Exams, which began on Monday.
13,528 students from 120 schools (103 in Puducherry and 17 in Karaikal) are registered to appear for the exams, conducted by the Directorate of Government Examination, Tamil Nadu.
The exams will continue till March 25, 2014. The timings are 10:00 AM-1:15 PM.
According to an official of the School Education Department, there were no incidents of malpractice in the 26 centres in Puducherry and six in Karaikal.
Two flying squads were deployed in the centres in Puducherry and one in Karaikal. In addition, squads deputed from the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Examinations are also monitoring the examinations.
