Eighteen-year-old Saranya, belonging to Pachakuppam village near Ambur, was fatally knocked down by a train on Monday morning

Eighteen-year-old Saranya, belonging to Pachakuppam village near Ambur, was fatally knocked down by a train on Monday morning. She was on the way to take the Plus-two board examination. The private candidate was crossing the railway track to catch a bus to her examination centre in Ambur when the mishap occurred. She was hit by the Bangalore-Guwahati Express and died on the spot. Jolarpet railway police registered a case and were investigating.
