The BSNL here has embarked on a slew of measures to realise the outstanding payment of telephone bills from defaulters, including legal action on those who have not utilised the Lok Adalat forum.
General manager of BSNL said, notices were issued to defaulters to attend the lok adalat meetings in Vellore and Tiruvannamalai districts during January-March, 2014. While many defaulters had attended, some of them had not. As a next step, notices regarding the outstanding dues would be displayed at telephone exchange and at the residences of defaulting customers in the next 10 days.
The GM has appealed to defaulters, who have not attended the lok adalats, to settle their dues immediately and intimate the payment details to the local telephone exchange or the account officers, to avoid display of notices.
