Contract employees of State Health Mission under the Department of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday took out a rally and held a demonstration in front of the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
Numbering around 500, they demanded regularisation by filling up at least 25 per cent of the posts in Health Department with the contract employees. They wanted the Health Department to withdraw the notification issued for filling up of posts of around 50 nurses through direct recruitment.
Besides, the workers have demanded that the State Health Mission resume payment of annual increment, which has been stopped from this year.
