The Election Commission has failed to make special arrangements to ensure that the polling process is convenient for the differently-abled persons, a petition alleged.

The petition said, the poll panel has not provided facilities for the differently-abled persons at polling stations, including ramps and separate queues.

Urging Madras High Court to direct the Election Commission to make the 2014 Lok Sabha polls differently-abled friendly, the petitioner submitted before the bench comprising Justice Paul Vasantha Kumar and Justice Sathyanarayan that despite the Supreme Court direction on October 5, 2007 to EC to provide ramps and separate queues for the physically handicapped, nothing much has been done.
