Two Arrested for Stealing Flock of Hen from Pudukottai

Two youth were arrested by Avudaiyarkoil police when they were fleeing after stealing a flock of hen from a farmer’s house on a two-wheeler.

Two youth were arrested by Avudaiyarkoil police when they were fleeing after stealing a flock of hen from a farmer’s house on a two-wheeler.

Sources said, a team of police attached to Avudaiyarkoil were engaged in vehicle check at Peruchapatti branch Road on Saturday. They intercepted a two-wheeler, in which the occupants were carrying a gunny bag. Peeping inside, they saw hens, numbering 106, stuffed inside the bag.

On questioning, the duo admitted that they stole the flock from a farmer’s house at Peruchapatti. Immediately, the police rushed to the farmer’s house and made investigation.

Later, the police arrested the duo and confiscated the hens and roosters. The accused were identified as Murugan (29) son of Arumugam and Kumaresan (25) son of Vadivel, both  hailing from Silattur near Aranthangi.
