2 Arrested for Fishing in Oussudu Lake

Forest Department officials and the police in a joint operation arrested two persons who were caught fishing in the protected area of Oussudu lake, which is a wildlife sanctuary.

G Sathiamoorthy, IFS, Deputy Conservator of Forests, said Satheesh (24) and Suresh (30), residents of Vanur, Villupuram district of TN, were arrested and materials, including 10 fishing nets, one small fibre boat, one kattamaran and 50 kg of fish, seized from them.

The arrested have been charged under section 51 (A) of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
