Duo Stabs TASMAC Manager, Robs Day’s Collection of 2L

Two unidentified men robbed the manager of a TASMAC (Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation) outlet of `2.33 lakh at Thamalerimuthur near Jolarpet after attacking him and his relative with a deadly weapon during the late hours of Sunday.

V Siva Kumar (35) of Chinnamoppanur village, who was working as manager of the outlet,  left the outlet, carrying the day’s sales amount of `2,33,720, on his moped. He was accompanied by his relative Ganagaraj (42). When they neared the railway bridge near Thamalerimuthur junction, two unidentified persons intercepted them. They attacked Ganagaraj, who was going ahead of Kumar on his bike, on his head with a wooden log. On seeing this, Kumar came to Ganagaraj’s rescue.

“One of the robbers stabbed Kumar and took the cash he had kept in his moped and fled. Kumar swooned due to profuse bleeding,” said the policemen in Jolarpet station.

Regaining consciousness after sometime, Ganagaraj helped Kumar reach a hospital. “Ganagaraj rode his bike with Kumar on the pillion. They got themselves admitted to the GH in Tirupattur,” said the police. The doctors treated Kumar and referred him to the GH in Dharmapuri.

Deputy Inspector of Police, Vellore Range, R Tamil Chandran inspected the crime scene and conducted an inquiry. Three teams were formed to nab the robbers.
